BAKERY - AUTOMOTIVE - CAFE
Welcome to Mill Race Moto - an automotive destination, artisan bakery and café in the heart of Essex, rooted in a shared passion for food, hospitality and just about anything with an engine. Our aim is to bring together like-minded people, to celebrate craftsmanship, community and culture - from freshly baked bread and specialty coffee to the machines that move us and inspire us.
Opening August 2026
Our onsite bakery produces fresh bread, pastries and cakes every day, alongside a full breakfast, brunch and lunch menu. There is space for those looking to drop in for a coffee and a croissant, as well as those who want to stay longer, soak up the atmosphere and explore the cars and bikes on display throughout the venue.
FUEL THE RIDE,
FEED THE MACHINE.
Whether you consider yourself a petrolhead, a biker or simply someone who enjoys great food and good company, Mill Race Moto is a place to visit, connect and spend time.
Building on the site’s history as a café within the former Mill Race Garden Centre, we aim to re-establish it as a destination for the local community. Designed to be welcoming, dog friendly and accessible, it offers a space for everyone to relax, meet, and enjoy excellent food and coffee.
Founded by Dan and Stew, two friends who both live in Essex, Mill Race Moto is rooted in a genuine connection to the local community.
From sourcing ingredients and products from regional suppliers to creating opportunities for local businesses, makers and enthusiasts, supporting the area around us is an important part of what we do. Our aim is to create a destination that not only brings people together, but also celebrates the people, producers and independent businesses that make Essex such a vibrant place to live and work.

Of course. It’s not about what you arrived in or on, it’s about turning up.
No egos here - we all start somewhere.
-
Nope!
